March Birthday Celebrations

Kevin's grandfather and mother have birthdays at the end of March.  So we had them over last week to celebrate.  We had dinner on our patio and once the weather cooled off we came inside for dessert.  Before dinner the girls had a blast playing with their grandmothers.  Kevin's grandma is 81 years young and was letting the girls push her over on the floor and she would bounce back up.  She is totally amazing and fun!  It was a perfect family night.

After rolling around on the carpet all evening my girls looked like little ragamuffins.

Happy Birthday Papa and Grandma!

Big Hat Days

It's an annual tradition to make a day of Big Hat Days in Old Town Clovis.  Last weekend the grandmas joined us for food, fun, and strolling down Pollasky Avenue.  Emily and Madi loved the rides and the rest of us enjoyed a leisure stroll looking at all of the booths.  We finished our day off with lunch at House of Juju.  It was my second time there and I've confirmed I seriously don't like this place.  Not sure why people go nuts for this restaurant.
Despite the lunch that I didn't enjoy we had a great day.

Trusting Turtles-School Days- March

In the month of March Emily's class learned the letters Kk, Yy, and reviewed all previous letters, the number 7,  the color green, the shape shamrock, focused on writing, and the bible verse was, "For God so loved the world He gave His Son."  March seemed like a jam packed month.  The beginning of the month the Trusting Turtles led Chapel.  Emily picked out her fancy outfit and was a bubbling, bouncy little performer.  Mid month Emily and I went shopping for her Easter Bonnet decorations and then I went into the class one morning so we could decorate it together.  She was very proud of her hat.  Before Spring Break the school had an Easter parade where mommy, daddy, Voa Voa, and sissy came to see Emily strut her stuff around the courtyard and hunt Easter Eggs in the Chapel.

Emily HAD to have her hair down, curled, and no bow for her Easter parade so her bonnet would fit!  Those curls lasted 30 seconds.

Music from Little Passports

Emily received her third package from Max, Mia, and Toby.  She is always so excited to see what her traveling friends sent her.  The latest shipment was all about music from around the world.  Emily busted out her Little Explorers World Map and added musical instrument stickers to her map showing where they were from.  She also loved doing the Musical Passport activity booklet.  I'm always thrilled to see how much Emily loves these packages are learning about geography.  It's a win-win if she's learning and excited about something.
