A Mom's Workout

Before I had my girls I used to work out fairly regularly.  My go-to was yoga a couple times a week.  Don't knock yoga if you haven't tried it.  It can be an awesome workout.  It also seriously helps calm my Type A, OCD mind.  I also swear that it made my labor and delivery much easier.  Anyways I got off subject...I used to workout but then I had kids.  Then it turned into, "I don't want to pay a babysitter just so I can workout!" (Plus my husband has long hours so he's gone before I get up and gets home late and I'm too tired to go at that time.)  Needless to say I've only been to the gym a few times in nearly 5 years.  And I wonder what's happening to my behind, lol!
Since the change in lifestyle I've had to find other ways to get some exercise in.  Now my go-to exercise is a walk with girlfriends.  It's good cardio at the pace we walk and pushing a double stroller with two kids is no joke for me.  Plus the girl talk is homeopathic.  I also count all the running around and playing with them as a bit of cardio.
How do you mamas stay fit and healthy?

The majority of week we were at the coast and a full post of our trip will be up soon but I still wanted to share our favorite moments of the week.

Emily had her very first hair cut at four and half years old (she was bald till 2). It was just a trim to keep her hair healthy but she got the royal treatment and she thought she was IT.  I've created a diva/monster because she's already asked me when she's going back.

She's got the natural ombre.  I pay a lot for that; why can't I have the free version too?!?!

She's blessed (cursed) with my hair which means it's super fine and does NOTHING!  Note the curls here and the lack of curls in the picture of her and I taken 4 minutes later.

Seriously one of my favorite things to do in life is read a book by the pool and with a cocktail of course.  While on our vacation this week I got to start June by Miranda Beverly Whittemore.  My goal was to finish the book on our trip but I didn't even come close.  That's not because I don't like it but because I have a 4 and 2 year old.  It definitely captures my attention and I can't wait to share my review with you soon.

I received this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for a review.

My nephew was killed in an ATV accident on January 1st of this year.  To say that we are still in shock in a complete understatement.  I think about him every single day along with my sister and nieces and can't imagine what they are feeling.  On July 27, 2016 Rocco would have been 10 years old.  Since we were out of town we sadly missed his birthday celebration back home.  We couldn't miss the celebration entirely so the girls and I honored Rocco with a balloon release on the beach in Pismo.  We had a moment to think about Rocco and then we released our balloons off to heaven.  Emily earlier found a rock on the beach and after our celebration she wanted to write a R on it for Rocco.
Family is forever and we miss you Rocco but will forever be in our hearts.

Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot

It's not the 108 degree weather that's making me feel so hot, it's this new feisty dress I picked up.  I am in love with the neon pink color and the cold shoulder ruffled sleeves.  It's so comfortable which isn't always the case with a cocktail dress.  It's lightweight which is great for this time of year (it's over 105 for the next 10 days) and flowy so it doesn't stick to your body.
Now I just need the perfect occasion to wear this cold shoulder ruffled dress.  It would be great for a wedding, a bridal shower, or an evening event.

For all my locals I found this dress at Ooh La La Riverpark.

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!!!

I think you all know by now that I have a small sweet tooth and by small I mean HUGE!  We especially love ice cream in this house.  When I heard Baskin-Robbins was coming out with a new product called the Polar Pizza I was just a tad excited.  I called the closest B&R and ordered a Cookies N Cream Polar Pizza on National Ice Cream Day because it only made sense to have an ice cream pizza that day.  The Cookies N Cream Polar Pizza is even better than it looks.  The girls, Kevin and I devoured the pizza in no time.  I could have eaten the whole thing on my own but I thought it was only fair to share.
The pie is pre-cut into eight pieces and you can eat it just like a pizza with no utensils.  The crust is made of Chocolate Chip Cookie or Double Fudge Brownie and can be topped with any number of flavors and toppings.  The featured Polar Pizza flavors are: OREO Cookies N Cream, Peanut Butter N Chocolate and REESE'S Peanut Butter Cup, Jamoca Almond Fudge and HEATH, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.  Are you salivating yet?  Check out your local Baskin-Robbins and be sure to call ahead to ensure they have your desired flavor ready to go.

Find your nearest store so you can drive like the speed of light to get your Polar Pizza.

In relation to my typical week this week wasn't as packed as some.  Even though it wasn't jam packed it was still filled with lots of fun.  Here's what I wanted to share from the week:

On Sunday my best friend Gina (familyfoodandfurniture) invited me to The Fresno Home and Garden Show to see Clint Harp from Fixer Upper.  We grabbed lunch beforehand at Bulldog Burger Bistro.  I've been wanting to try this place because I follow them on Instagram and my mouth waters every time I see one of their photos.  I tried the special which was a bacon burger that came with fries and a drink.  Although the burger doesn't sound too out of the ordinary it was mouth watering; it had great flavor.  We didn't grab a cold one but they also serve beer.  If you haven't been to the bistro yet you've got to check them out on Cedar and Barstow.

This photo is adapted from Bulldog Burger Bistro.

The girls had a visit to the best dentist, Dr. Powell this week and it was Madi's first time.  She actually did really well.  She took just a second to warm up and she sat in the chair with sissy long enough for the hygienist to clean her teeth.  She then sat on my lap when Dr. Powell took a look in her mouth.  Emily was an old pro and did exactly as she was asked.

Last night the Fresno Fab Females got together at THE POINT Patio Bar & Bistro.  We are a group of local women who have joined forces to inspire, uplift, collaborate, empower, encourage, and support women in our community.  Follow me on Instagram to learn more about each of these talented women.  I will share a couple of them with you each month so stay tuned.

The night was filled with delicious drinks, yummy food, and good laughs.
I had the filet kabobs and they were very scrumptious; the balsamic reduction was to die for.

This wasn't mine but it looked so good I had to snap a quick pic.

The patio at THE POINT had the best atmosphere and I can't wait to go back.

Tonight we got to check more fun items off of our Summer Fun Bucket List.  The girls and I invited grandma to go to the Clovis Farmer's Market with us.  We went on an extra fun night because there was a pole vaulting event.  I was surprised to see how excited Emily was to watch the jumping.  We ate the typical junk food, got some gorgeous local produce, and finished the night off with eating cotton candy snow cones.  It was a perfect summer night.
