Can't Stop Fresno

There are two things that I TOTALLY love: my little City of Fresno and Justin Timberlake.  When I recently saw Top Hand Media's latest video "Can't Stop Fresno" I was giddy.  The video features Fresnans dancing around iconic spots in Fresno set to Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling."  It even features our Mayor, Ashley Swearengin; how cool is that!
I'm just wondering how I missed the call to be dancing in this video:)
Fresno is an awesome place to live with a cost of living that can't be beat in California, diversity, agriculture, a great college with fun sporting events, tons of shopping, and the perfect central location; it's only a few hours to LA, SF, or the beach.
You've got to check this out...

Here's just a few fun facts about Fresno:

#1 Farming County in the U.S.

Fun all Summer Long with Jungle Jumparoo

Does anyone watch and love Shark Tank like I do?!?!  The days where Friday nights consisted of dinner, a movie, and maybe dancing till 2 am are GONE.  Now Friday nights consist of Shark Tank and Last Man Standing.  What a 360, lol!  Oh well I wouldn't trade it for the world (most of the time).  I love our family nights in and like I said Shark Tank always entertains me.  I'm an entrepreneur at heart and love hearing the ideas that come on the show.  I just wish I would come up with the next big thing.  One of those things is the Jungle Jumparoo.  Talk about hours and hours of fun for your kids right in your own backyard.  The Jungle Jumparoo is a 3 in 1 toy for jumping, climbing, and swinging.  Its low to the ground for easy access and it allows up to 8 jumpers at a time.  Not only can it be used outside but also inside for all year round use.  I'm excited about the Jungle Jumparoo because it provides hours of entertainment but it also has great health benefits.  I recently learned that 10 minutes of jumping provides the same cardiovascular health benefits as 33 minutes of running.  Wow that's a big difference!  This generation of children are tv and iPad obsessed and this is leading to an obesity epidemic.  Giving kids a fun reason to get moving and active is a home run in my book.  Another health benefit of jumping is that it stimulates the lymphatic system which helps your body get rid of toxins, bacteria, and viruses.  The Jungle Jumparoo absorbs 80% of the shock from the impact which is good for the bones and joints and jumping improves bone density.  The fun of the Jungle Jumparoo is reason alone to snag one but all the health benefits are like icing on the cake.

The most exciting news is Jungle Jumparoo is offering YOU $100 off your order if you use the code: FRESNO100.

Honey Butter Grilled Corn

Honey Butter Grilled Corn

Ingredients:
Sweet Corn, shucked
1/4 c. Butter
2 Tbsp. Honey
Salt and Pepper, to taste

Directions:
Mix butter and honey in a small bowl.  Spread onto corn, season with salt and pepper, and wrap in aluminum foil.  Grill wrapped corn for about 20 minutes on a hot grill, turning slightly every 5 minutes.  Unwrap corn, discard foil, and grill on grates for a couple of minutes to slightly char the corn and lock in some great flavor! Brush with additional honey butter and serve hot.

My Beauty Routine

I've been sharing with you lately that once I hit 30 I realized I better up my beauty routine game!  I wanted to share with you what I'm using to keep my skin looking great (or as good as possible).
Every night I wash my face with my Sonic Care Mia and Obagi Gentle Cleanser.  As needed I wash with ZO Skin Health Offects Exfoliating Cleanser.  Then I use Obagi Hydrate to moisturize.  In the mornings I wash my face again but with my hands and warm water.  Then I apply CE Ferulic to my face and neck; wait 5 minutes before applying anything else.  Next step is applying ZO Skin Health Ossential Daily Power Defense to face and neck.  Then I apply Obagi Professional-C Suncare SPF 30.  The last step before makeup is MAC Fix+ as a primer.  After I finish makeup I finish off with MAC Fix+ as a finishing mist; I can reapply throughout the day.

What I'm seriously lacking and would love your help with is eye cream.  I don't have anything so what do you use?

Stay tuned for a makeup tutorial and the products I use and love.

Friday Favorites

I haven't done Friday Favorites before but I have so much to share from the past week I thought I better start a Friday Favorites so I can combine all the fun into one post.

My first FAVORITE is a serious favorite because my girlfriends Christina, Rema, and I started a local women blog's group called Fresno Fab Females.  We started this group because we believe in women supporting one another and uplifting each other.  We also wanted a group where we can share our strengths and get ideas, tips, and tricks for our social media.  Recently we met for happy hour to kick off our launch.  It was such a fun night getting to know each other and talking all things social media!  I left super excited and inspired by all the lovely ladies.  Check out my Instagram for more details.  Also stay tuned the first Friday of every month for our Fresno Fab Female Follow Friday.  I will be introducing the ladies to you and I'm excited for you to get to know all these women.

Madi started speech therapy in January after we had her evaluated in December due to some concerns.  A VERY long story short she was hearing under water and we've got that figured out now.  Not only can she hear clearly now but she attends speech therapy once a week and has progressed leaps and bounds.  I am so proud of her and how hard she works in speech.  It's not easy for a two year old to sit on their bottom for one hour, pay attention, and practice talking.  Here are a couple of recent videos of her during a speech session.

During the summer we try and do group playdates once a week.  Last week was the zoo with 15 little kids!!!!  It was organized chaos for sure.  Chaotic or not it's totally fun.
Our zoo is pretty amazing.  Last year they opened African Safari and it feels like a little Africa right in our own backyard.  Our favorite part is feeding the giraffes.

To celebrate Father's Day we had donuts then went for a little hike down to the San Joaquin River which is extremely close to our house.  We enjoyed the walk but I couldn't believe the amount of trash and homeless encampments along the beach, YUCK!
After our hike we enjoyed lunch at Jack's and then my mom brought us dinner.  It was a nice relaxing day.  You can see my Father's Day letter HERE.

Yesterday we went with our besties for a walk and then we played at Todd Beamer Park.  It's a great park with lots of play equipment and a small water park.  The water is on daily during the summer starting at 9 am every day except on Tuesdays I believe it starts at noon.  There is also a Snow Cone Vendor out there but we went really early yesterday so we missed it.  That was the negative part about going early but the huge positive was no one was there.  As we were leaving it turned into a zoo (around 10:15 am).
Going to Todd Beamer Park is on our Summer Fun Bucket List.  You can check out more on that HERE.

Since I'm posting so late in the day I figured I might as well post about today's playdate at Wild Water Adventure Park.  I only took Emily because it's too hard for me to keep eyes on two little ones in the water.  We had such a blast soaking up the sun and playing in the water.
Playing at the Water Park was also on our Summer Fun Bucket List.  Look at us with all these checkmarks in one week:)

Have a great weekend!

Checking off Our Summer Fun Bucket List

How is it the end of June already?!?!  Emily has been out of school for two weeks and we hit the ground running with packing our summer full of fun.  We've started checking things off of our Summer Fun Bucket List.
Here's what we want to do this summer...

Our first item to check off was making homemade ice cream.  Emily's favorite flavor is strawberry so of course that was her request.  It's not a ton of work but it's not nearly as simple as picking up a carton at the store.  Also I was thinking about it and I think it was more expensive to make than to buy.  So I guess it comes down to the experience and it was totally worth it.  Emily and I loved making something together while sissy was sleeping.  I love the moments that I get to spend one-on-one with my girls.  Emily and I had lots of fun and we beyond enjoyed the finished product.  It was SUPER delicious!!!

It's summer so Emily's typical summer uniform is a bathing suit.  I just got home from work and didn't take a moment to change.

Baby Shower Gift Basket

I love giving a gift basket for any occasion.  They are fun, cute, and great way to give a variety of gifts.  Recently I helped host a baby shower for my dear friend Mary.  I was very excited to give her a gift basket I put together with the help of Finn + Emma, BinxyBaby, and MilestoneBaby.  Finn + Emma sent me two reversible bandana bibs and teething ears in the Robot Collection.  All Finn + Emma products are made with G.O.T.S. certified materials.  They are organic cotton, non-toxic, and made with eco-friendly dyes.  The material is the softest ever and are perfect for a baby.  The original baby cards from MilestoneBaby help document all the milestones of the baby's first year, "I'm 1 month old", "I can sit up", etc. There are 30 photo cards to use while taking photos with your little one.  The BinxyBaby Shopping Cart Hammock is revolutionary for shopping with your infant.  I always hated lugging the baby carrier to put in a shopping cart because it was soooo heavy and at 5'1" I could never see over the top of the carrier while pushing a cart.  Where was the BinxyBaby shopping cart hammock when I had babies?!?!  I didn't get to benefit from it but I was thrilled to give it to Mary for her benefit.  The hammock hangs in the shopping car and you put your infant inside like a sling.  It's super light weight and folds down very small.  You can just keep it in your car for the times you will need it.
