Mommy Monday-Proud Mommy

My blog has really been lacking on Mommy Monday and my documentation of things my girls are doing and saying.  Today I'm wanting to get back to this because this is one of the most important parts of my blog; keeping a diary.  Emily's preschool teacher shared today that "Emily was given a gift from God to be kind and friendly to everyone. She never excludes anyone and her joy and enthusiasm is genuine."  She's told me several times in the past that Emily is the official class greeter.  Emily has the biggest heart I've ever seen and she's never met a stranger.  She's genuinely kind to everyone and meets everyone with a bear hug.  My heart explodes with happiness to hear such feedback.  I'm proud that we taught her kindness but we can't even come close to taking all of the credit.  Her teacher hit the nail on the head when she said God gave her a gift.  My wish is that she never loses this quality or her innocence.  I also hope that she can teach this kindness to others around her (including me)!  God bless you baby girl.

Mommy Monday-Back to School

Emily had her first day of school today at Shining Star Preschool.  She is a Trusting Turtle this year in Miss Debbie and Miss Meredith's class.  When I walked into her room this morning she said, "Mom I'm not old enough for the 4's class, I'm 3."  I told her it was for 3 and 4 year olds and she was happy with that response.  She then ran to her closet to show me what she wanted to wear.  While I was out of town this weekend Voa Voa took her shopping.  They found the perfect outfit for the first day of class with a turtle on it!
Emily was so excited for school to be back in session and she was bursting with excitement this morning.  She wanted to go say hi to her previous teachers and was thrilled to see them after the long summer.  We then walked to her new class which she quickly recognized as "her summer school class (she went two days)."  She recognized her friend Carson from last year right away and ran up to him to give him a hug.  She then gave her teachers a hug and gave them a little treat.  She jumped right into playing and we were off.  We are so proud of how social and confident she is.
When I picked her up this afternoon she wanted to show me a few things she did today and then she wanted to say bye to her current and past teachers.
She asked for YoDiggity and since today was a special day we grabbed it on our way home.
The time is flying and our little girl is getting so big.  We are so proud of her and excited to see what this year brings.  Soon is Kindergarten and within a blink will be high school graduation.

More pictures to come...

Mommy Monday-Book Barn

My good friend Christina, found story time with Mother Goose at the Book Barn in Clovis.  We decided to go check it out last week.  There is a little dancing time before it starts and Emily and Madi walked right up to play.  Emily got picked to choose a book for Mother Goose to read once the story time got started.  Then the kids do show and tell (we didn't bring anything).  Lastly everyone gets to take a picture with Mother Goose. After the session was over we went downstairs and bought a used book for Emily.
Story time was packed and a bit loud.  I would recommend this for little ones but not on a weekly basis.  Once in awhile is plenty.

Huge smile on her face!

Madi thinking, "How did I get crabs?!?!"

After story time we did lunch and ice cream!

Mommy Monday- ReSqueeze Reusable Pouches

As a busy mom always on the go I always have food pouches handy in my fridge so I can grab them on my way out if I don't have time to throw together a snack or lunch for my little one.  My BIG complaint is the cost.  Well I now have a great solution!!!  I've teamed up with ReSqueeze and want to share their product with all of you.  This is a refillable children's pouch that you can fill with yogurt, smoothies, or pureed food.  Not only are you saving so much money but you know exactly what is in each pouch; no trying to pronounce the ingredients on the back.
ReSqueeze pouches have a top spout and a double dual zip closure on the bottom.  You can use your blender or food processor and then easily pour into the pouches and seal.  You can put your ready to go pouches in the fridge or freezer for later use.
These pouches are durable but still BPA, PVC, and Phthalate free.  They are a straight flow design which makes cleaning easy.  You just rinse in hot water after each use.
Their website shows recipes, directions, and videos to help you.

However, I just threw in fruits and veggies I had on hand.  I used blueberries, cooked carrots, yellow peach, cooked zucchini, and pear.  I used my favorite handy dandy Baby Brezza to do the blending.  Then I poured the contents into two of the small pouches.  I did find it a bit tricky to get the thick mixture into the pouch.  The large pouch has a bigger opening and is easier.  A funnel would make pouring into the small pouch a breeze.

I definitely recommend you get these if you have little ones!

Before filling

Mommy Monday

Here's an activity to keep your kids entertained.  I taped paper towel and toilet paper rolls on the wall and Emily dropped pom-pom balls down the tubes.  She would just drop them or sometimes we would race our pom-poms.  A disclaimer: Madi had to be kept away because when she got near it she ripped it off the wall.  This was super simple and free; give it a try.
Please share any activities you do with your young children.  I'm always looking for ideas to keep the girls happy and having fun.

Mommy Monday- Pump It Up

During the summer we're trying to keep the playdates regular to keep the summer fun!  Recently we went to Pump It Up in Madera with our friends the Patricio's and the Green's.  It was $8 per child and one accompanying adult was free.  From 10-11:30 was for children under 6.  Emily had tons of fun jumping and sliding.  Madi really liked it too.  Although I will say that we all liked Skywalk more than Pump It Up.

Mommy Monday-Date Night

We're still trying to give Emily one-on-one time and some special treats to make her feel special and not get lost in the busyness of two children.  A few weeks ago Emily and I went to BJ's Pizza for a mommy and daughter date night.  We had pizza and pizzokie; you can't go wrong with those!!!!  It was lots of fun just hanging out with my girl.
