Mother's Day

This Mother's Day we did virtually nothing which is exactly what I wanted.

Some family came over, we thru together a small lunch, and hung out in the backyard for most of the day.  It was very relaxing.  When we didn't have company I got to read which made my day.

I got the best Mother's Day gifts from my baby girl:

My hubby got me a chaise lounge because all I want to do this summer is lay out! He also got me a beautiful hydrangea plant which is my favorite. My mom spoiled me and baby girl with lots of fun clothes.

Thank you to my wonderful husband, my beautiful daughter, and my awesome mom for spoiling me!  Thanks to everyone who came over to visit; it was a great day!

The Final Countdown

I have 2.5 weeks left in my pregnancy according to my doctors timeline and less than that according to my sonograms. Emily was born 2.5 weeks early so I keep holding my breath for my water to break! Also my doctor has said for months I won't make it to 40 weeks. 

With all the anticipation that baby girl is going to come early I just know she'll come closer to due date:)

Warning, this post is about reality and not rainbows and sunshine. Yes, pregnancy is a miracle and the "prize" at the end is more than worth it but its no cake walk. 

I don't enjoy being pregnant in the least bit. Especially when I've had a two year old. It's much harder this go around. 

Lets see, first you're sick, have headaches, and are very tired. Then just tired but chasing around a toddler. For some odd reason Em doesn't understand that I just want to watch The Real Housewives and lay on the couch!

After I got over being nauseas I developed gestational diabetes AGAIN! So then you go into starve mode, which makes you even more cranky than just the extra hormones raging thru your body. 

By the third trimester you feel like a whale, you're uncomfortable, you can't sleep, you pee constantly, your ankles are the size of your waist...did I miss any other fun stuff?!?!  Oh yeah because I'm "high risk" with gestational diabetes I have to go to the doctor twice a week with a two year old in tow for a Non Stress Test. I feel like I live there. I also have to go to the diabetes center and I always wait at least two hours:(

I'm very ready to not be pregnant (I'm sure you didn't get that vibe yet) but a little apprehensive about having two kids if I'm totally honest. 

I am, however, very excited about meeting our new baby girl. I'm excited for Emily to have a sister, to dress them alike, to cuddle a baby again, to love unconditionally, and witness one of God's greatest miracles! 

We still haven't settled on a name for baby girl #2. So Stay tuned for name and her arrival. Please keep us all in your prayers.

Latest Reads

I've read two REALLY good books recently.  First I read Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.  This book really has me thinking about how I need to be constantly reminded that your life is very precious and it could change in a second.  I wish I could slow down and appreciate the super important things in life that seem so little from day to day.  This story is about a very powerful young man who lives in London.  He has wealth, status, power, looks but all of that is taken from him after a motorcycle hits him in the road.  A young girl is hired to care for him after his accident since he can do nothing on his own.  The story follows their unlikely relationship/friendship and the rest I will have to leave for you to read.

I just finished the Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty and it was super duper good!  Cecelia finds a letter in her attic from her husband that is addressed to her upon his death.  The story is about her dilemma to open the letter, and once she does, the secret is reveals.  The story develops by following three different stories that all intertwine.  It was a page turner!  

I recommend both of these books!

Tiffany's Shower

Our family friends, Tiffany and Justin are expecting baby #2 in July.  They already have a daughter, Bella but are expecting a baby boy, Ian, this time.  This last weekend her sisters hosted a Dr. Seuss shower which was super cute!  Thanks Freitas girls for inviting me!  It was a lot of fun.

PINC Mixer

Last week Pam and I put on our first PINC mixer as a way to get to know each other better and have a girls night out. Even though it was pretty small it was a lot of fun. I think we definitely accomplished some bonding. 

We played LRC which is a dice game with a cash prize. This is always a ton of fun. Rema was the big winner!

Emily made amazing Sangria (so I'm told, lol), thanks Em, and everyone brought an app or dessert. 

Pam hosted the party at her beautiful house, thanks Pammy!

Looking forward to doing this again. 

Vintage Days

On Sunday, when the weather was finally nice, we went to Vintage Days at Fresno State.  I've been going for years but this was the first year we went as a family.  It was such a fun day.  I love that we have this in our community every year.  We walked all the booths, ate corn dogs and ice cream (highlight of my day btw), and spent lots of time in the kids section.  For $5 you got a wrist band that you could use at the petting zoo, pony rides, bounce houses, inflatable slide, and craft corner.  What a deal that was.  Emily loved it all.  She amazes me that she has no fear.  She climbed the slide and went down, and jumped in the bounce house all by herself.  This was the first time she had done either of these things.

Can't wait for next year:)
