Vanderpump Tour-Girls Trip

This last weekend my girlfriends and I did what I like to call the Vanderpump Tour.  We did a quick getaway to LA and planned on eating at all of Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants.  We left very bright and early on Saturday morning and headed down to LA.  A huge thanks to Christina for driving!  Our first stop was at the Beverly Hills hotel which is where we wanted to stay but they only offer 1 bed per room which wouldn't work for 5 girls.  We checked out the Polo Lounge but a burger was nearly $40 so we just did a little sight seeing and then headed to the Grove for lunch and shopping.  We ate at La Piazza on the patio which is great atmosphere overlooking a mini Bellagio water feature.  After a great lunch and a little shopping we grabbed cupcakes from Sprinkles.  My sweet tooth was so happy!  After checking into our hotel, Hotel Roosevelt, we went out to the pool for a drink and people watching.  The pool was great but we didn't love our room by any means.
We then got ready for the night and headed to SUR.  We weren't able to get a reservation but we were so lucky to grab a table in the bar.  We saw Max, James, and Guillermo from Vanderpump Rules.  Since we had a great spot at the restaurant we didn't want to give up our table so Rema, Dede and Mary walked down to Pump to see if the scene was better than SUR.  We got a text saying Ken, Lisa, and Joyce were at PUMP.  Christina and I paid the bill and literally ran to PUMP.  PUMP was a total zoo (it was LA Gay Pride Weekend).  Right away we took a picture with Kristin from Vanderpump Rules who was very sweet.  We then stalked Lisa from these benches close to her table.  A very long story short we eventually ended up getting to sit at "her table" and Christina sat in her personal pink chair after their group moved to a more discreet table.  We waited over 4 hours to get a picture with her but didn't succeed.  We did get a picture with Joyce from season 4 of The Beverly Hills Housewives.  Even though we were super sad about the bust with Lisa we had so much fun making friends with the staff and chatting all night around a table at PUMP.
On Sunday we at Mel's Diner on Sunset instead of Villa Blanca because we were boycotting Lisa after the night before.  Before heading home we checked out Kyle's store and Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills.  On our way home we stopped at the outlets at Tejon.
We had the best weekend shopping, eating, laughing, and sharing stories.  Love these girls and can't wait for more trips like these!

We celebrated Christina's birthday.  This was part of our ploy to get Lisa's attention; it didn't work.

Father's Day Ideas on Central Valley Today

Today I was a guest on Central Valley Today with ideas for Father's Day gifts.

The first idea was from Dollar Shave Club.  Instead of running to the store for overpriced razors you can go to their website and with a simple click of a button have razors and refills delivered to your doorstep.  It is a monthly delivery that you can cancel at any time.  In addition to razors they offer haircare, skincare, and grooming products.  The subscription is $1-$9 per month plus shipping.  Check them out at Dollarshaveclub.com

Second were items from Bloom Designs.  They offer several customizable products including stationary, coasters, iPhone covers, candles, but for Father's Day I recommend their Tipsy Tumblers and To-Go Cups.  They can be used for hot or cold drinks and they start at $21.  Find more info at bloomdesigns.com

For the dad who is hard to buy for an idea is from Family Tree DNA.  You can give him the gift of his legacy and the knowledge of his lineage.  The kits start at $99 and you do a simple swab of the cheek and then return it to the company.  It takes 1-3 months to process and results are posted online.  More info at familytreedna.com

Lastly, from WeMontage is a gift for the sentimental dad.  This is a customizable removable wallpaper that doesn't damage your walls.  You upload your photos to their site and make a custom collage.  You can make a variety of sizes including as large as your entire wall.  Prices start at $59.95.  If you want to order this for your dad you need to order today so that it arrives in time.  The website is easy breasy to use.  Check it out at wemontage.com

Thanks to Alex Delgado for having me on Central Valley Today.

Mommy Monday-Preschooler Activity

Here's a easy and fun activity to do with your preschooler: Monster Dice Match.  To play I used Cheerio's but you could use just about anything.  Each player gets 7 Cheerio's and then you take turns rolling a die.  Whatever number you roll you find that same number on the playing board and put a Cheerio there.  There are a few of each number on the board but if you roll a number and there are no spots left you forfeit the turn.  The first player to use all their Cheerio's wins.
This game helps with counting up to 6, taking turns, and subitizing (looking at a group of objects and and knowing how many there are without counting each one.)

School Days- June

My baby girl has one year down and 15 more to go. I have a pit in my stomach as I right this because I can not believe my sweet girl has finished her first year of preschool.  Why is it that time flies faster and faster?

I looked back at my post School Days-August and reminded myself that we debated putting Emily in school so young and looking back it was the best decision ever.  She LOVED school and learned so much.  I really wanted her to reap the social benefits and I think it was a total success.
This month Emily had her end of the year program with the other classes.  It was the cutest thing ever.  Emily was so excited and totally put on a show; she had no stage fright at all.  She sang and danced with a huge smile on her face the whole time.  Part way thru her songs she yelled out, "Hi Dad!!!," a minute later, "Hi Mom!!!," followed by, "Hi Voa Voa!!!" and lastly, "Hi Grandma!!!"  She had the crowd laughing.  It brought tears to my eyes to see what a shining star (no pun intended) she is!  She isn't shy and she has such a love for life.  I pray that she keeps this spirit as she grows up.  After the performance we had snow cones on the lawn and then went to her classroom for an open house.  We saw all the projects the class has been working on and we got to take home a binder that Emily worked on all year.
Also this month Emily had Donuts with Dad, which she was thrilled about.  Daddy was just as excited to have a date with his girl at school.  She made daddy a present which he got to bring home that day.
A huge thank you to Miss Claudia and Miss Rebecca for being the best teachers.  Emily loved them so much and she was so excited to see them each school day.  I also want to thank all of Shining Star School for being so warm and kind to our family.  We absolutely love this school and can't wait for next year.  As Emily told me today, "I'm still going to go to Shining Star School, just not a Ladybug."
Happy Summer!

Emily's binder for the year

I had to include this page because it was so funny!

Emily gave each teacher this gift basket with candy and movie tickets.  The tag read, "And the award for picture perfect year goes to... you!"
