Supper Sunday-Crockpot Lasagna

We love lasagna but when I discovered crockpot lasagna I was so excited.  It's the easiest way to make it!!!  You don't have to boil the noodles beforehand which I think is the worst part of making lasagna.

Ingredients:

2 lbs. ground beef
29 oz. can tomato sauce
Dried Oregano
Dried Basil
Garlic Salt
Black Pepper
Lasagna Noodles
3.5 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 cup Grated or Shredded Parmesan Cheese
16 oz Cottage Cheese
1 egg

Directions:

1. Spray the inside of the crock-pot with cooking spray or line crockpot with crockpot liner and then spray with cooking spray.

2. Brown the ground beef

3. Drain beef, then season with oregano, basil, garlic salt, and pepper to taste.  Stir the tomato sauce in with the ground beef.  Simmer for 15-60 minutes for added flavor.

4. Spread 1/4 of the meat sauce on the bottom of the crock-pot

5. Arrange uncooked noodles over the sauce (I usually break them up so they fit better)
6. Combine the cheeses and egg in a bowl. Spoon 1/3 of the cheeses over the noodles.
7. Repeat these layers twice
8. Top with remaining sauce
9. Cover and cook on low for 4hrs
10. 10 minutes before serving top with shredded mozzarella cheese

Assembly:
1. Layer of Meat sauce in the bottom

2. Layer of uncooked lasagna noodles.  Break to fit.

3. Layer of cheese mixture

Repeat layers 1-3 twice, then top with meat sauce.

With 10 minutes remaining top with mozzarella cheese.

Serve with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. We like lasagna with garlic bread and grilled zucchini.
