Pregnancy Workout Routine

This post is sponsored by Degree Women but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Pregnancy changes everything including my workout routine.  I've been in love with High Fitness since January but a couple of months ago I had to back off because my body could no longer handle the high intensity.  I'm very sad about it because it wasn't just for my body but also for my mind.  High Fitness gave me an energy like no other and it was a release for me.  In the meantime, I have to keep moving because this pregnancy is wildly different from my first two.  I don't know if it's the age or because it's a boy (probably both) but the weight just came quickly from the start.

I've had to adapt my workout routine to fit my growing belly and still keep me healthy and sane.  What I'm trying (key word) to do these days is stretch while at home.  I've moved my yoga mat into my room in hopes of doing it first thing in the morning.  Ideally I get to do just a few minutes before the girls get up so it's good for the mind, body and soul.  For cardio these days I'm walking on the treadmill at the gym at a small incline.  However, the last few weeks have become even more challenging with Braxton Hicks.  I just keep telling myself any movement and heart rate increase is better than nothing.

When I head to the gym I always take a gym bag filled with the essentials for a pregnant lady.  My arsenal includes deodorant, water, phone, laptop (I'll explain in a few), and protein bar for after the sweat.  The one item not in my bag that is absolutely necessary is an accountability partner.  There's  about a 99.9% chance I wont' show up if I'm not meeting someone.  I need someone to get me there but more importantly to keep me entertained while walking.

In the past few weeks I've switched to Degree Women Dry Spray Antiperspirant deodorant because I've heard such great things.  I picked mine up at Walmart and there's even a $1.50 coupon code when you use Checkout 51.  The benefits include going on instantly dry, up to 48 hour protection against wetness and odor (but who waits that long to shower?!?!?), Motionsense technology, dermatologist tested and alcohol free.  Another claim is protecting against white marks on your clothing.  However, I sprayed it while wearing a black dress and I had white marks everywhere.  I also tried applying without getting dressed and then putting on my black gym top and still got white marks.  So I'm still going to give this a try considering the amazing reviews I've heard but not totally sold yet.

My life changing tip is working out AND working at the gym.  I mentioned this in a previous post and I'm loving it so much.  I'm getting my work done completely uninterrupted and I don't have to feel guilty that my girls are getting half my attention.

How do you workout when pregnant?  Are you able to maintain your pre-pregnancy routine?
