How to Make Firecracker Hot Dogs for the 4th of July

I love creating for the holidays whether it's crafts, parties or fun food.  I made these firecrackers hot dogs and I only tackle easy projects and this one was no different.  They make for a fun and festive meal during the 4th of July holiday.

You will need hotdogs, crescent rolls, skewers, cheese, and a star cookie cutter.  I suggest buying a block of cheese and cutting slices about 1/4 inch each.  If you used store bought sliced cheese it won't be thick enough to stay upright on the skewer.

1. Preheat over to 375 and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. Insert skewers all the way through the hot dogs with about an inch poking through the top.
3. Unwrap the crescent rolls and cut into strips.  Wrap around the hot dog.  Place wrapped dogs on cookie sheet and bake in oven according to the crescent rolls directions.
4. Use cookie cutter to make stars.
5. Let hot dogs cool for just a minute and stick the star on top.
