Disneyland: The Place Where Dreams Really Do Come True

I'm just reminiscing about our Disney trip and I'm ready to go back.  Overall we had a great time but it wasn't exactly all we had hoped for because Emily got sick on day 2.  Luckily she was able to get a few hours each day in the park and thank goodness both grandmas were with us to assist with going back to the hotel for Emily to rest.  I wanted to share all that we did so get ready for Disney and picture overload!

Sunday morning the girls finished their countdown and were so excited to head down to Disneyland!  We left early that morning, made a stop right before the Grapevine for lunch and hit Anaheim early afternoon.  We got in some pool time, settled into our rooms and then headed to Downtown Disney for shopping, sightseeing and grabbing dinner.  One of our absolute favorite spots to eat is Naples.  Not only is the food to die for but they have a great atmosphere and an incredible balloon artist who makes the best characters for the girls.  It's a must on your trip!

Day 2 started very bright and early and our first stop in the park was Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique where both girls were treated like princesses.  If you have a little girl this is an absolute must at least one time.  They do their hair, nails, makeup and give them a goodie bag to take home including makeup, nail polish, and a sash.

We spent the rest of the day jumping from ride to ride, watching the Pixar Play Parade and we ended the night with the Together Forever Firework Show.  One of the highlights of the day was eating dinner on the patio at the Carnation Cafe because it was the same time as the parade so we had the best seats in the house.

Day 2 started off great but it was very early on that Emily spiked a fever and went back to the room for nap with daddy.  She had to come and go that day but we made the best of it.  This is the day we spent in California Adventure.  We started with meeting Anna and Elsa.  Since we went straight there we were the first in line.

Again our day consisted of enjoying the rides and meeting characters.  We ate dinner at Wine Country Trattoria where the food was good and the atmosphere even better.  We ended the night with the Paint the Night Parade but Emily wasn't well enough to make it through the parade unfortunately.  A highlight of the day was Madi just making it onto the Radiator Springs ride; everyone got to go and it was a great memory.

Our refillable water bottles, backpack and lunchpail went with us every day and I'm telling you we would have been lost without them.  We filled up our water each day at the hotel but then got ice water from concession stands and refilled throughout the day.  The lunchpail held snacks and lunch for the girls and the backpack was a God-send to hold all of our stuff.

Day 3 began with the character breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen.  I mentioned in another post that we were pretty disappointed with the amount of characters and the amount of time we had to wait for them.  Next time I think we will try Minnie and Friends inside the park, which I've heard great things about.

It took us a few days but we finally got to ride the monorail and we rode in the first car which is a great experience.  We spent some fun time in Toon Town riding rides and meeting Mickey and Minnie in their houses.  Emily didn't make it past the afternoon so daddy, Madi and I stayed to enjoy a bit more of the park and meet more characters.  By this day even Madi was totally pooped out so we ended our day pretty early in the park.  Kevin and I said we were going to go back to enjoy adult time but since I couldn't ride anything and my ankles were killing me we just made it to Downtown Disney for a dinner.

Day 4 wasn't a park day just a day for us to take it slow and go back to Downtown Disney for some shopping.  Madi got to spend her birthday gift cards and both girls got to spend their Disney Dollars that they earned throughout the week.  We grabbed some last minute Disney treats before heading home and made it home in the evening.

A HUGE thank you to both Grandma and Voa Voa for treating us to a magical trip as well as helping so much with our babies!  We couldn't have done it without you!
