10 Months

Emily was 10 months old yesterday.  As I say each month, "Where is the time going?!?!?!"  It's the final countdown to the big 1!  

GONE, GONE, GONE are the days where Emily will sit in her seat for me to take the monthly photo. We battled again this month just to get this photo.  I ended up trying a change of scenery and this is the best I could do.

I ended up loving this spot because it shows how big she is now.  She's sitting by herself on our front porch step.

Little Miss Em is pulling herself up on everything and climbing on anything she can.  She's miss adventurous and keeps me on my toes.  

She's talking lots and imitating things we say. 

She repeats- Baba, Izzie, Dada, Papa, Bad.

She gives kisses and waves to everyone. 

Walking is just around the corner.  She walks behind her little car and goes so fast I don't know how her little legs keep up. (She's not going full speed in the video below.  I missed that on camera.)

Camping

This past Labor Day Weekend we took our first family camping trip to Camp Edison at Shaver Lake.  Baby Girl did so well and had so much fun!  She and daddy slept in a tent together and she slept from 8pm-7am!!! I was so relieved she slept through the night in a strange place.  Emily loves to be on the go and be where the action is, so like every other adventure we've had, she loved this one too.  She played on the beach, hung out by the campfire, and loved playing with her cousins.  I was a bad mommy and barely got any photos.  Here are just a couple:

Wash, Peel, Slice, Dice, Steam...

I've been making Emily's food since she began solid foods at 6 months old.  I wanted to share with everyone how I do it and how rewarding it is.  I spent $48 on Organic Fruits and Veggies at Whole Foods.  This sounds like a lot but I get way more by making my own food than by purchasing the jars.  The bigger reward is knowing exactly what is in my little girl's food.

Here is what I started with:

Then I begin the process of washing, peeling, slicing, dicing, steaming, cubing, and bagging:)
I wash all the food, then use a potato peeler on the hard fruits and veggies and hand peel the softer foods.  Next I slice and dice the foods and put them in my Baby Brezza which steams and purees the food all in one.  This is a must in making homemade baby food!

After the pureeing is done I pour the mixture into ice cube trays.  After a few hours in the freezer I pop the cubes into labeled freezer bags.  When I feed Miss Em I just grab whatever cubes I want.  This makes it so easy to mix up her meals and give her a variety of flavors and nutrients.

This is 225 cubes which is approximately 75 meals; that equals about 63 cents per meal.  The jars of organic baby food average about $1.00.  Of course there is a lot of time that goes into making my own food but I think it is worth it!

Rub a Dub Dub

Wedded Bliss

Last week Kevin and I celebrated 3 years of wedded bliss.  Okay not ALL bliss but he is my best friend, my partner, and the best dad.  That equals more than bliss.  We've been married for three short years but we're going on 12.5 years together.  

To celebrate we went to dinner at The Cracked Pepper which was our first time there.  We enjoyed a delicious meal and we had to try their bread pudding that we've heard so much about.  It was to die for. Thanks Mom for the gift and babysitting!

Our anniversary celebration continued when Kevin's mom, stepdad, and grandparents treated us to Tepinyaki at Edo-Ya.  This is one of our favorite spots!  

We're so blessed to have each other and a wonderful family who loves us so much.

I love you babe and can't wait for the years ahead.  I wouldn't want anybody else on this adventure with me!

M-IC-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E

My dear friend Christina's son just celebrated his first birthday.  The party was a Mickey Mouse theme and everything was so darn CUTE!  The party was at the Smittcamp's home which was a great venue.  The kids enjoyed a Merry-Go-Round, a train, horses, and a bounce house.  Emily was a bit too young to enjoy the festivities but we still had a great time.

9 Months

I can hardly believe that my little peanut is 9 months old already.  Her 9 month birthday was last week on 8/7/12 but I'm just getting to this post because I can't get the wiggle worm to cooperate.  Gone are the days where she would just lay there and smile for the picture.  I miss those days:(

Here is attempt #1:

She was soooooo mad at me for trying to take this pic.  I would hold her down and she would wiggle and that eventually led to screaming!

Attempt #2- Prime example that my little girl is growing up too fast.  She wouldn't sit for the picture, instead she decided she wanted to climb.

This is the best I could do.  Sitting was ABSOLUTELY out of the question.  She's talking however, so I captured a silly face.

Every day is new adventure and taking these photos just shows you how much that is true.  I can't believe we're just short of 3 months away from the big 1!!!!  I cherish every moment with this little peanut and can't wait for the days ahead (I just wish they would slow down and not go so fast.).
