Cover it Up

I could live in a world with only summer so seeing 70's in the near forecast has me giddy.  However, it's been so brisk here that I've been covering up and layering.  I think having a staple coat is a must for any wardrobe.  It should be classic, simple and versatile so it can go with just about anything.  I have a bone trench coat that is substantial but not overwhelming that fits the ticket just perfectly.  I'm showing how a coat can be worn no matter the occasion.  I can wear this trench to work, out to dinner, to a formal evening, or even over my casual wear to run around.

This look is something I could wear to work (on a more casual day) and then straight out to dinner. I've chosen worn black skinny jeans with a form fitting criss cross top.  The accessories, bag, and trench coat complete the look.  I'm not sacrificing style for warmth and that's a win-win for me!

While running around or going to lunch with friends I still like to get dressed and look cute.  Now I'm wearing the criss cross top in a more casual way.  I love clothes that can be dressed up or down.  I dressed it down for this look with my torn light wash jeans and wedges.  Since it's been so cold I can't get away with just jeans and a long sleeve tee so the trench keeps me warm and stylish.

For a work event or winter wedding I would never survive without a coat.  I love that this versatile piece can even be worn with a semi-formal look.  The details are simple yet enough to give it personality and style.  I may be a bit obsessed with accessories and I don't think you'll ever find me without them; they complete every look.  In this case I'm wearing nude pumps, my LV clutch, my traditional arm candy, and a convertible Chloe & Isabel necklace.  This necklace is great because it's neutral and goes with everything but it also can be worn long or short (both are shown below). It's like having two necklaces in one.  You can find other fabulous options at Candi by Mandi.
