How to Clean Each Season

Everyone has heard of Spring Cleaning and maybe even some of you do it but I think it takes some extra deep cleaning every season.  I'm not trying to fool anyone, I have a house cleaner but I have to go the extra mile especially every now and then to keep the house how I really want it.  Since I get so busy and cleaning the house isn't at the top of my mind I use the start and end of seasons to remind me to get really down and dirty with the house.

My Top 10 seasonal to-do list includes:

1. Vacuuming the window and door tracks.

2. Taking items out of cabinets and pantry and wiping down the shelves.

3. Going through the closets and getting rid of things and reorganizing everything.

I cleaned out all the drawers, cabinets, and closets and threw everything into the office to be sorted.  YIKES!!!  This didn't even include all the clothes I took to consignment.
I then had to decide Sell or Donate.
It amazes me how much junk you accumulate in a short amount of time.  I wish organizing was a one and done type of thing but it's not; it's a work in progress.  You also have to be aware that it gets worse before it gets better but the outcome is totally worth it!

4. Vacuuming the furniture, the nooks and crannies of the house, the AC vents.

5. Wash the windows.

6. Clean the inside of the fridge and freezer.
I take everything out and wipe everything down.  I use Clorex wipes to make sure everything is sanitized.

7. Cleaning the insides of the washing machine.
Do a cycle of 1 quart bleach, wash and rinse. Then another cycle 1 quart white vinegar, wash and rinse.

8. Sanitize toys.
Sometimes I just use Lysol spray or wipes and sometimes I throw all the toys in the top rack of the dishwasher and wash on extra hot.

9. Clean the sink drain.
Pour 1/2 C. Baking Soda, then 1 C. White Vinegar into kitchen drain.  Put stopper on immediately and let sit for 10 minutes.  Rinse with hot water for about 1 minute.  Then I use an old tooth brush to clean all the grime around the opening (SUPER gross).  Next throw in cut up lemon and a handful of ice cubes into the drain and turn on the disposal.  This sharpens blades and creates a nice smell.

10. Change AC Filters.

My Dyson V8 Absolute is the ultimate cleaning tool for several of these items on my seasonal cleaning to-do list.  It's extremely versatile but even better it's so easy to use.  I don't have to hassle with a cord which makes cleaning so much faster.  It's also so light weight that I can handle it to do just about everything.  I love all the attachments which are super quick to change because my Dyson can clean floors, baseboards, furniture, AC vents, window tracks, inside of cabinets, and so much more.
It has amazing suction and lasts up to 40 minutes on one charge.  Not only is it easy to use but it's also easy to clean.  To see how quick and easy it is check out this video:

The icing on the cake is the docking station.  It's off the floor and keeps my linen closet organized.
