Introducing The Paper Lace

I was very excited to work with The Paper Lace on Emily's Frozen Birthday Party.  They offer digital downloads including nursery and kids wall art, party signs, classroom decor, laundry room signs, and a few customized housewarming or wedding gift items, as well as general home decor. Working with Lacie was a breeze; she was so great to work with.  She has a 5 star grading on Etsy and I can see why with her promptness and creativity.  Please check out her site for all your printable needs.
Thank you Lacie for adding to my little girls Frozen party.

Meet:
Please tell us a little bit about yourself:
My name is Lacie- I'm the wife of a hardworking man, the mama of a two year old boy, and I'm 36 weeks pregnant with a baby girl :)

Please tell us a little bit about your company and how you got started:
I have an Etsy shop called The Paper Lace where I sell printable wall art, mostly for kids rooms, parties, and classrooms. It started when I became a stay-at-home mom. I felt so blessed to be in a position that allowed me to stay at home with my little boy, but it was clear I needed an outlet- something that would allow me to feel productive in a way that didn't involve diapers or feeding or cleaning. My sister suggested I sign up for etsy and sell digital downloads. I barely knew what she was talking about, but I did it anyway, and soon- nap time and night time became my escape. I discovered I could design printable signs on my computer, make an etsy listing, and then magic would happen... it would sell.

What has been your greatest lesson in running your own business?
The greatest lesson I've learned in running this business is to not compare myself to similar etsy shops. There are a lot of people who sell the same type of stuff that I do. Some of them have much larger sales volume, some of them have much less. I've learned not to set goals based on another shop's performance. I've learned not to get discouraged. I do what I can with the time that I can, and I set goals based on my shop and my schedule.

What’s your greatest tip for entrepreneurs?
My tip for entrepreneurs: If at all possible, pick something that you love to do, and make it fit your schedule and your needs.

What does your normal day look like?
My typical day looks like a little boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. We play. We laugh. We eat. We cry. We learn. Then, my phone will make a "cha-ching" sound, notifying me of an etsy sell. If it's an instant download, there's nothing for me to do, so I direct my attention back to my little boy. If a customer sends an etsy message, I'm more than likely replying to it on my phone, while sitting in a pile of toys. It's not a glamorous day, but it's a day that I love.

Who inspires you?
My customers inspire me. I love getting custom orders, and I do my best work when I'm trying to make something specific for someone. If I just design something random, and put it in my shop thinking it will eventually sell- I don't put a lot of heart in it. But, when a customer comes to me looking for something in particular, it means a lot more, and I do everything I can to give them exactly what they're looking for.
