Introducing KyLily Boutique

Since scarves are huge right now I included them on my Gift Giving Guide from KyLily Boutique.  So you could have more info and see a couple pics I'm writing this post.  KyLily Boutique sent me a "smoke" infinity scarf and I just love it.  As you know if you follow me I love mixing patterns so this plaid scarf makes me really excited.  In this look I mixed the plaid with large stripes.  If you are looking for scarves for the winter months you've got to check out KyLily Boutique.

Please tell us a little bit about your company and how you got started:
KyLily Boutique is a small business that I run out of my home with the help of my amazing husband. It started back in 2013 when I desperately wanted to stay home with my then 2 year old son. I felt like I was missing him grow and learn and develop while I was away at work, so I took a leap of faith and resigned from my job to be with him full time! Although I didn’t immediately have the idea to sell online. Then, one day, I was shopping online at one of my favorite websites, and I had that ah-ha moment and thought “Hey, I could do that!” So, I did some research, lost countless hours of sleep, and eventually launched our website!

What has been your greatest lesson in running your own business?
My greatest lesson has been that although it seemed like it would be ‘easy’ to work out of my home, running a business and being a full time mom is super tough sometimes! Balancing life, family, business, and everything else can be overwhelming sometimes. And there is so much more that goes into running a business than just the obvious tasks.

What’s your greatest tip for entrepreneurs?
Be patient, keep trying, and DO NOT get discouraged! It’s so easy to get discouraged when you’re starting your own business and things just don’t go the way you hope they will, or progress as quickly as you would like them to. Just stay positive and keep trying!

What does your normal day look like?
My normal day probably looks a lot like that of any stay at home mom. I play with my son, spend time with my family, and do what I can to prepare for Baby Girl due in December But after my son goes to bed, that’s when I get to work. That’s when I prepare the shipments for the next day, order items, answer emails, etc. It is not at all unusual for me to go to sleep around 1 or 2 am and be up with my son by 6:30 or 7 am! It’s totally crazy, but having the opportunity to be home with him everyday makes it so worth it!

Who inspires you?
My husband, son, and soon-to-have baby girl. They inspire me to keep going when I feel discouraged, to always do my best, and to never stop trying. My husband is always so supportive and helpful with everything, and he was so supportive when I wanted to stay home with our son. And my son because when I look at his sweet little face, It reminds me why I am doing this, and why I can’t ever give up.
